1. Long-Distance Pipeline Pressure Monitoring
Function: In natural gas trunk lines and支线 spanning thousands of kilometers, pressure serves as the driving force for gas transmission. Transmitters continuously monitor pipeline pressure in real time, ensuring it operates within safe limits.
Importance: Preventing overpressure-induced pipe bursts while maintaining minimum pressure to ensure efficient transportation capacity. Data is directly uploaded to the SCADA system, enabling full-line automation and leak detection.
2. City Gate Stations and Pressure Regulation Stations
Function: Reduces upstream high-pressure natural gas to the medium or low pressure required for the city's pipeline network. The pressure transmitter plays a critical role in both control and safety monitoring in this process.
Applications:
Pressure regulator front-end monitoring: Monitoring inlet pressure.
Post-regulator monitoring: A core application! It measures the outlet pressure and feeds the signal back to the regulator or control system, creating a closed-loop control mechanism that ensures the outlet pressure remains stable at the setpoint.

The flow calculation formulas (e.g., orifice plate flowmeter equations) include a pressure compensation term. Therefore, the pressure transmitters used here must exhibit exceptionally high accuracy and stability, as they directly impact the fairness of trade settlements—and, by extension, significant financial transactions.
