1. Extremely high hygiene standards: Must comply with sanitary regulations such as 3-A, EHEDG, and FDA. All surfaces of contact parts must be exceptionally smooth, free of dead corners and product residues, ensuring easy cleaning and sterilization.
2. Material Compatibility: 316L stainless steel or a higher-grade material must be used. Surfaces in contact with the pharmaceutical solution require exceptionally high surface finish, typically demanding Ra < 0.8 µm or even Ra < 0.4 µm, and must undergo electropolishing treatment.
3. CIP/SIP Capability: Must perfectly support Clean-in-Place and Sterilize-in-Place processes. This means the flow meter needs to withstand high temperatures, highly concentrated acid/alkali cleaning solutions, and saturated steam at temperatures exceeding 121°C—up to as high as 140°C—while its structural design must eliminate any dead corners where steam cannot reach for effective sterilization.
4. No Risk of Leakage: The connection method must be safe and reliable; hygienic clamp connections are the mainstream choice, ensuring no leaks even under pressure fluctuations.
5. Accuracy and Repeatability: During the liquid preparation process, highly precise quantitative control is required to ensure that the composition and volume remain consistent across each batch.
