What is a Circular Gear Flow Meter
A circular gear flow meter is a positive displacement flow meter designed for accurate measurement of liquid flow.
Unlike oval gear flow meters, circular gear meters feature a compact gear structure that provides:
✔ More stable operation in confined spaces
✔ Simplified mechanical design
✔ Reliable measurement for continuous industrial processes
Each gear rotation represents a fixed volume, ensuring consistent and repeatable results.
How It Works
The meter uses precision gears rotating inside a chamber. As liquid flows through the meter:
• The gears rotate proportionally to flow
• Sensors detect gear movement without direct contact
• Pulse signals are generated and converted into flow data
Outputs include:
• Instant flow rate
• Total accumulated flow
• Pulse / 4–20mA / RS485 signals
This ensures accurate and stable measurement even at low flow rates.
Key Advantages
✔ High accuracy (±0.2%)
✔ Excellent performance at low flow rates
✔ Compact and robust structure
✔ Not affected by turbulence or flow profile
✔ Minimal straight pipe requirement
✔ Suitable for continuous operation
✔ Wide pressure range (up to 40 MPa)
Best Applications
• Lubrication systems
• Hydraulic systems
• Fuel consumption monitoring
• Chemical dosing
• Industrial process control
Viscosity Considerations
Liquid viscosity affects flow meter performance.
HHD provides:
✔ Viscosity-based calibration
✔ Flow correction guidance
✔ Engineering support for temperature variations
This ensures accurate measurement across different operating conditions.

According to the model selection table, you can choose the correct flow meter based on your flow range and pressure.
Avoid Costly Mistakes
Using the wrong flow meter can cause system issues:
• Using circular gear meter in dirty liquids → gear blockage
• Using turbine for viscous fluids → measurement error
• Using ultrasonic for small flow → unstable readings
⚠ Incorrect selection may lead to inaccurate measurement and downtime.
